Buyer’s Guide for Dental Insurance and Discount Dental Plans

Browse Common Concerns:

Dental Crown Coverage

Do most plans you offer include dental crown insurance benefits?

Yes. Most of our plans have generous crown coverage. You just need to know how soon you want the work done. If your dentist recommends your crown be fitted ASAP then we recommend you look for plans with no waiting periods. Get a quote using the box above and use our filtering tools to narrow plans down to meet your needs. Crown benefits will be clearly listed in your customized quote page.

How much can dental crown insurance coverage save me on costs?

Benefits vary by provider, but most plans pay 50% towards the cost of a crown. At Dental Insurance Store we clearly show what kind of crown benefits you can expect as well as a convenient button to compare up to five plans at a time.

What kind of crown should I get?

There are three types of crowns:  All-metal, porcelain-fused-to-metal and all-ceramic. Metal crowns are typically chosen for strength, not cosmetic appearance. Porcelain-fused-to-metal provide good strength and more closely resemble a natural tooth.  All-ceramic crowns are made in dental labs or milled from blocks of ceramic but are not as strong as the other two types. Consult your dentist for which will work best for you.
