It’s that time again!  This week, we are giving you a blast from the past and showcasing some of our best articles.  We will make you laugh, we may make you cry, and we will make you think twice about how drinking a Polar Pop each day affects your oral health.  So enjoy some highlights from a handful of our most helpful posts.

Time Travel Tooth Tip #1:

Some people cannot put their technological devices down long enough to even brush their teeth.  The good news is that now they don’t have to!  They can continue their love of technology in the bathroom.  In June, we explored Dental Technology and You and found a whole new way to make brushing fun.  Don’t miss the demonstrative video made by yours truly in this article!

Time Travel Tooth Tip #2:

You put the lime in the coconut...  In May, we introduced the wonderful world of coconut oil and its oral health benefits.  Read how this refined oil can act as a tooth cavity shield and help fight germs that cause tooth decay and bad breath.

Time Travel Tooth Tip #3:

Another super food for your oral health are avocados. Besides being delicious, they have properties that researchers say can help fight off oral cancer.  Since the mortality rate of oral cancer is around 50%, putting a few avocados in your diet would give you a green light on healthiness.  Find out what else avocados can do for you!

Time Travel Tooth Tip #4:

Both coconut oil and avocados can keep you heart healthy, but how does being a heart patient affect your trip to the dentist?  Agent Straight-Talk interviewed Dr. John Frye, a cardiologist specializing in coronary angioplasty, to get to the heart of the matter. If you or someone you know is a heart patient, this article is a must read!

Time Travel Tooth Tip #5:

As with time travel, choosing a dental plan as a senior must have a strategy behind it.  Questions to ask before your journey include: whether you have an immediate need; if you have a favorite dentist; can you hold out for those waiting periods some plans have?  Find the answers to these questions and more!

We would love to hear what your favorite post was today.  Post your comment on our Facebook page and give us a Thumbs Up while you're at it!  That autographed toothbrush from the authors of AST is still up for grabs!  Thanks for reading Agent Straight-Talk, and check back next Wednesday for our Back to School August series.  Email us with comments on any of our topics at AgentStraightTalk@DentalInsuranceStore.com.

4 Tips to Save the Most Money

1. Preventive Care

Make sure you’re taking advantage of regular periodic preventive checkups based on your dentist’s recommendation. Those diagnostic procedures, cleanings and scalings, etc., will prevent small problems from developing into bigger, more expensive and harder to treat problems later...
